Research on video continuity

This term can refer to a variety of topics including the way a story is created in video form and the way video clips are shot from an artistic perspective. All of these aspects are important and can be heavily influenced by a videographer's personal style.
In general, video continuity has to do with the way clips are assembled to create a smooth flow of video for the viewers.

Research on shot/reverse shot (sample video)

Reserch on shot/reverse shot

Shot reverse shot (or shot/countershot) is a film technique where one character is shown looking at another character (often off-screen), and then the other character is shown looking back at the first character. Since the characters are shown facing in opposite directions, the viewer assumes that they are looking at each other

Research on the 180° degree rule

In filmmaking the 180° rule is a basic guideline that states that two characters (or other elements) in the same scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. If the camera passes over the imaginary axis connecting the two subjects, it is called crossing the line. The new shot, from the opposite side, is known as a reverse angle.

Reseaerch on Match On Action (video)

Research on Match On Action shots

Match on action (or cutting on action) is an editing technique for continuity editing in which one shot cuts to another shot portraying the action of the subject in the first shot.
